Mahendra Hariraj is the Controller at ACUE where his responsibilities include ownership of day-to-day accounting, audit, financial reporting and tax. He also partners with the CEO on strategic management and investor relations.
Mahendra comes to ACUE from the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, where he was Vice President of Finance. Prior to his time at the Museum, he served as Managing Director of Finance for The Door, a New York City 501 (c )(3) that serves a diverse population of disconnected youth in New York City. His past work experience also includes roles as the Director of Accounting at Ultimate Medical Academy and FedCap Rehabilitation Inc.
Mahendra is also an adjunct faculty at Monroe College where he lectures in accounting, corporate finance and auditing. His passion for finance, combined with his teaching experience is what drew him to ACUE and its mission to ensure student success and equity through quality instruction
He holds B.S. in Accounting from York College, and M.S. (with academic distinction) in Accounting from Queens College New York. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Management and Leadership at Pace University.
