Programs for Graduate Students
Graduate students can become more effective instructors and earn microcredentials through enrolling in ACUE’s Open Enrollment Courses.
Many graduate students have important teaching responsibilities in discussion sections, labs, and sometimes courses. Alongside your preparation as scholars and researchers, ACUE’s open enrollment courses will help you develop effective and inclusive teaching practices shown to promote deeper learning, higher rates of course completion, and more equitable student outcomes.
These courses cover the same topical areas as our programs for faculty, but are designed specifically for graduate students. The 4- to 6-week online courses are facilitated by an expert in collegiate instruction. Individual graduate students can apply directly or be enrolled by their graduate program.
Open Enrollment Courses
In every course, ACUE’s learning design guides graduate students from foundational knowledge through higher order learning to the implementation of proven approaches, reflection on one’s practice, and refinement based on peer and expert feedback. These graduate-level offerings are delivered online and certified by Quality Matters.
Graduate students who complete the requirements for each open enrollment course earn a microcredential in a set of competencies as outlined in the ACUE Effective Practice Framework©. Graduate Students who complete all four courses earn the full ACUE Certificate in Effective College Instruction. The microcredentials and full credential are nationally recognized and endorsed by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Tuition, which covers all course fees, is $600 per course.
