James Blalock is an Academic Strategy Consultant at ACUE and serves as a key advisor for our partner institutions; consulting with campus leaders, understanding needs, and designing and presenting impactful offerings that positively impact student success and faculty satisfaction.
Blalock is proud of his life’s work providing educational opportunity to those who stand to benefit from a postsecondary credential the most. He believes that a focus on continuous improvement is of paramount importance to meet and exceed the diverse and constantly evolving requirements of today’s students. When first exposed to ACUE through the North Carolina Student Success Center, he immediately realized the missing component of his past decade of post-secondary quality improvement work.
Over his career, Blalock has served as a market and customer strategy consultant for an international consulting firm: taught business administration and information technology courses in adjunct and full time capacities; secured and managed over $5.5M in grants; designed and started an academic quality assurance program, and most recently served as an Associate Vice President leading offices of distance learning, information technology, institutional effectiveness, and instructional support.
Blalock holds a BS in Decision Science and an MBA from East Carolina University; an MA in Educational Technology from George Washington University, and an EdD in Higher Education Administration, also from George Washington University.
