The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) is dedicated to promoting student success and equity through evidence-based instructional practices. In collaboration with higher education institutions and organizations, ACUE delivers faculty development programs that enhance teaching methods and foster student achievement. Research demonstrates that ACUE- trained faculty engage students more effectively, resulting in improved learning outcomes and reduced equity gaps. ACUE delivers its programs through partnerships with universities and open enrollment courses endorsed by the American Council on Education.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Sales, the Partnership Director is a senior sales position responsible for driving new business for ACUE. This integral team member is accountable for growing ACUE’s market position by building new partnerships with universities and leveraging existing relationships they may have in the education market to achieve its revenue goals.  The successful candidate will work closely with ACUE’s Partnership and Marketing teams and across functions to execute against ACUE’s growth strategy.

This role is ideal for a motivated and experienced sales professional who can meet and exceed sales targets, bring a strong network of contacts (at the President, Provost, and VPAA level) to the table, and provide consultative sales support to clients.

Responsibilities 

  1. Exceed Sales Quotas:
    • Develop and implement sales strategies to consistently exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
    • Generate and maintain a robust sales pipeline through a combination of lead generation, prospecting, and networking efforts.
    • Utilize a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and tailor solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
    • Clearly and convincingly articulate the organization’s offerings and value proposition and overcome initial resistance from prospects.
  1. Build and Leverage a Strong Network:
    • Leverage your existing network of contacts and relationships to identify potential business opportunities.
    • Establish and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within the industry.
    • Attend higher education events, conferences, and trade shows to expand your network and identify potential clients.
  2. Higher Education Expertise:
    • Apply your deep understanding of higher education processes, challenges, and trends to identify opportunities and provide relevant solutions to academic institutions.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized proposals and presentations that align with the unique needs of higher education clients.
  3. Consultative Sales:
    • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by providing in-depth product knowledge, industry insights, and tailored recommendations.
    • Conduct in-depth needs assessments to understand client pain points and propose effective solutions that address their specific challenges.
  4. Sales Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and progress in Salesforce CRM.
  5. Marketing Support
    • Work closely with ACUE’s marketing team to implement market strategies, conduct customer outreach activities, and represent ACUE at conferences.

Skills and Experience 

  • Proven success selling educational solutions into the US post-secondary, with experience working with System Leadership, Presidents, and Provost-level institutional leaders, or comparable business development experience.
  • Experience selling online teaching and learning programs and related services, preferably in a training/professional development context;
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to near-term revenue goals and long-term strategy.
  • Experience negotiating and structuring complex, multi-year deals, RFPs, and contracts.
  • Business and financial acumen to form strategic business and territory development plans.
  • Exceptional communication skills to message and communicate the company’s vision and mission and present to senior higher education leaders, advisors, and potential partners.
  • Consistent performer with strong top-line revenue results.
  • Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales quotas in a B2B sales environment.
  • Consultative and solution-oriented sales approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Analytical abilities, including business and deal/financial modeling, pricing strategies and execution, and business case development.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and dynamic environment where constant change exists.

Position Details

A competitive compensation package will be provided commensurate with experience and responsibilities.  This full-time position includes salary, commission, and benefits.  This position is entirely remote.

Competitive Compensation Package: We provide a competitive compensation package, including a base salary between $110,000 – $130,000 and an attractive commission plan that offers significant earning opportunities. Commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
