Dr. Gail Clarke is the Director of Content at ACUE. She brings over 30 years of experience to this work, serving as a teacher, professional development facilitator, building administrator, and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. She has written curricula that span multiple study areas and has facilitated professional development opportunities in balanced literacy, inclusive classroom practices, mathematical discourse, instructional strategies, and effective assessment practices. Her collaboration with K-12 and higher education educators has fostered a deep appreciation for the important role that high-quality professional development has in providing educators with the critical skills and knowledge necessary to support student learning.
In addition, Dr. Clarke has coordinated programs for gifted and talented learners and was a botany instructor as a member of Columbia Teachers College’s Gifted and Talented program. She has served as a co-teacher in a special education setting and in an inclusive deaf education program. Dr. Clarke holds a BA in elementary education, an MA in curriculum and instruction, an MA in K-12 educational leadership, and an Ed.D. in higher educational leadership.
